Canada, 1882. A young German, Marie Blumfeld, immigrates to Canada to marry a minister. On the way, the traveling caravan of women is attacked. Marie is fortunate that the thieves take her for dead and she's found by an Indian. Onawah, the tribal medicine man, takes care of her but Marie is helped by Philip Carter, a fur trader, who falls in love deeply.
